SSE in action
During a regular visit to SSE member The Grange, the Business Development Manager spotted an opportunity to make a positive connection. Sussex College had won the local contract to deliver a Personal Best programme in Surrey. The programme aimed to create a cohort of people with a qualification in Event Volunteering for the 2012 Olympics. However they were struggling to find a group of suitable customers who were interested in the volunteering opportunity. The Grange has a large number of people accessing their service, who already volunteer, and welcomed further training. SSE introduced Sussex College to the Grange and agreement was quickly reached to deliver a Personal Best course at the Grange. The Grange clients welcomed the high quality Personal Best training delivered by the Sussex College tutors. The majority of the group achieved the qualification.
